Spaceship / Vehicle Modeler

Currently a student at Pacific Audio-Visual Institute (Vancouver BC, Canada), with 10+ years of experience in spaceship modeling. Meeting your spaceship needs since 1999! My game-ready models have made their way into many award-winning mods, including the "Star Trek Total Conversion Mod" for the game "Sins of a Solar Empire", which was one of the best mods of 2008. Co-creator of the famous "Dynaverse II FASA Mod" for "Starfleet Command II: Empires at War / Orion Pirates". Don't hesitate to contact me if you're an employer, even one in Europe because I'm an experienced traveler and polyglot. I'd love to relocate and have an adventure! All models produced using 3DS MAX and Photoshop. I also have MAYA, Zbrush, and Flash skills! Atrahasis1@hotmail.com

For character references, feel free to contact my teachers at PAVI. I got top grades and have a great attitude and work ethic, as my teachers will proudly attest to.

Watch the second half of my "Earthfleet 2070" video, a trailer that I made from scratch to propose a game idea. In the late 21st century, mankind must fight for his rightful claim to the moon against an alliance of determined aliens who have been watching us and have already set up shop there. Created spring of 2009 at PAVI, Vancouver BC. Please excuse for now the fact that it's feeding off a YouTube server, which means the resolution is not good. The yahoo sitebuilder doesn't give me another option to include video. Don't forget to press the "HQ" (High Quality) button after it starts playing!

Click on any pic below to bring up a collage of shots. All models are game-playable ones that I made over the years to exacting fan standards!

  • The Battleship Arcadia! She's a lean 5000 triangles, with all the turrets and antenna modeled. If you need to know how good I am at modeling the smooth-looking anime hull plating, this ship is a prime example. Subtle plating with subtle weathering, streaking, and shadowing, but not too much because those anime ships tended to look clean.
  •  The mysterious MK II Clipper on the "Federation Silhouette Recognition Chart" by Starstation Aurora that was published in the 1980's. The creator of that legendary publication is a friend of mine, and he gave me exact drawings so I could finally make a 3D model of it. Fans loved finding out how this ship really looked like, after knowing only its basic side silhouette for 20 years. This one rings in at around 1500 triangles.

  •  Ah, the fearsome Borg! Would you believe that this amazing-looking cube is all texture? It's the very first Cube that they encountered, the one from "The Best of Both Worlds". This one will make it into the next edition of the "Sacrifice of Angels 2" mod for "Sins of a Solar Empire". If you need to know how I handle complex "greeblie" textures, this one is a great example.

  • This is the Borg cube from Voyager, which did require some meshing. This one will also be in the next "Sacrifice of Angels 2" mod.

  • The USS Chicago from "Star Fleet Battles", a Federation "War Cruiser", which is a ship made from older parts during war time. This one rings in at about 3000 triangles.

  • The Klingon D-4 "D'Ama" Cruiser from the FASA Star Trek Role-Playing Game! If you ever wondered what this ship would look like in 3D (because those tiny FASA diagrams were terrible), this is my interpretation. The hull plating is subtle, to emulate the "smooth" lines of the Original Series ships. About 2500 trinagles.

  •  A low-poly Dalek from the new "Doctor Who". About 100 triangles. My fans used this as a kind of fighter that launched from the mothership.

  •  The Dalek Mothership from the new "Doctor Who"! You can see the"industrial age" rustic look on it that is typical of a lot of the equipment seen in the series. One of the themes of the new show is "old meets new", whether it's the inside of the Doctor's TARDIS or the enemies.

  • The venerable and original USS Enterprise! Note the inclusion of all the windows and hull markings, as only the best would pass the critical eye of fans of this ship. There is subtle weathering, especially at the areas where the elusive "deflector grid" is supposed to be. About 5000 triangles.

These shots of the ship look like they were taken from the show, don't they? :) Nope, just my game-playable model.

  •  This is a Federation Mobile Base from "Star Fleet Battles" which I pretty much made straight from the diagrams, but gave the containers more bays and lights.

  •  The Klingon G-6 Gunboat, or at least my interpretation of it! The basic idea for the ship is from "Star Fleet Battles", but I designed all of the details of the ship except for the general basic shape. Steven V. Cole, the creator of "Star Fleet Battles", once emailed me and said I had a great eye for fleshing out his basic Klingon ship designs! About 2500 triangles.

  •  The Romulan-Klingon cruiser! Given the "Star Fleet Battles" decals and subtle Klingon-esque hull weathering. About 2500 triangles.

  • The "Interplanetary UFO" model kit that was sold in the 1960's with AMT's Star Trek line of model kits. This toy was molded in glow-in-the-dark plastic. This ship, otherwise known as the "Lief Ericson Cruiser" has a legion of fans, and many people were happy when I made an accurate game-playable model of it. About 2500 triangles.

  • The USS Marshall, a Destroyer-type ship from the early days of the Federation, according to the "Spaceflight Chronology" that was published in 1980. Sharper-contrast hull plating to indicate a less-refined design that the typical Trek ships were are used to. About 2500 triangles.

  • The Merchantman from "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock"! You remember, that tiny ship that gets blown away by the Klingon Bird of Prey. About 1500 triangles.

  • The Romulan "King Eagle", based on the lines of the inaccurate AMT model kit of the 1970's, which gave the ship much wider wings than the studio filming model. Though inaccurate, it was still cool and deserved to be modeled and represented in Trek games, so I knew I had to do it. About 2000 polies.

  • Behemoth-class Battlecruiser from Starcraft! People used this model for all sorts of things in their personal games. About 3000 triangles.

  • Klingon Cruiser T'Chan, designed by Aridas Sofia, the creator of the Starstation Aurora fan material of the 1980's! He personally sent me pictures of his model kit that he had embellsihed to make it look like this, a half-way design between the original TV show cruiser and the more sophisticated armored one seen in "Star Trek: The Motion Picture". Note the plating, subtle weathering, and "peeling paint" look. About 2500 triangles.

  •  The USS Archon and a Klingon K-5 cruiser. The Archon is depicted in the classic "Heavy Cruiser Evolution Blueprints" of the 1970's, by Starstation Aurora. The author is a friend of mine and told me he approved of my 3D interpretation of his ship! About 3000 triangles.

  • The Klingon B-1 Battleship, based on the hull of the original Klingon D-7 cruiser. My interpretation of the basic line drawing from "The Enterprise Officer's manual" by Geoffrey Mandel, circa 1970's.  About 3000 triangles.
  • The Borg Cube from "Star Trek: First Contact", which was of course the first all-Next Generation movie. Would you believe this is all texture? This ship will appear in the upcoming "Sacrifice of Angels 2" mod for "Sins of a Solar Empire".

  •  The Borg (assymetrical) Battleship! I really like the scratchy-beaten hull with the intermittent glowie bits. About 2000 triangles, this will also be in the "Sacrifice of Angels 2" mod.

  •  The"unofficial" Klingon D-4 Cruiser from "Star Trek: Enterprise"! In the episode "Unexpected", the VFX team did not have enough time to create a new Klingon warship model, so they re-used a "modern" one that they already had from the other Trek series...much to the disappointment of the fans! However, after the episode aired, the VFX team released pics of this cruiser that they wish they had put in instead. Note the "tension cables" and beaten, rusty hull. I created a game-playable model of this, much to the delight of Trek fans. My model here has already been featured in many Trek mods and will continue to be in the upcoming update of "Sacrifice of Angels 2". About 3000 triangles.

  •  The original Klingon D-7 Cruiser! Except I gave it a lot more detail than was on the original studio model. Subtle weathering and plating, with extra glowie bits. About 2500 triangles.

  • Klingon E-3 Escort from "Star Fleet Battles". Original details by me! About 2000 triangles.

  •  Romulan Falcon Cruiser, a wider hull with a different bird pattern underneath, from "Star Fleet Battles". About 2000 triangles.

  •  Klingon G-1 Gunboat, from "Star Fleet Battles", but with my own liberties added to it. About 1500 triangles.

  •  Federation K-7 Space Station, as it looked in the DS-9 retro-episode "Trials and Tribble-ations". About 5000 triangles.

  •  Klingon Mobile Base, an original design by me using the containers from one of my freighter models. About 2000 triangles.

  •  Lief Ericson Cruiser, on the box! At about 2005 I started a personal campaign to make the model kit company Polar Lights (who was doing the Trek kits at the time)  consider bringing back this old kit from the 1960's. Years later, they decided to do just that and I am proud to say that the mass-produced injection-molded styrene model kit of this famous ship is slated for release in October 2009 to retail for about $20! Did I have any influence? I like to think so. :)

  •  USS Meacham. This model is based on concept art by Matt Jeffries, the designer of the original USS Enterprise. Don't laugh, but this is one of the designs he proposed to be the ship! I knew I had to model it and call it something else, just to have it in game. Starstation Aurora publisher Aridas Sofia recommended that I call it the "Meacham" named after a scientist from a 1950's sci-fi movie, so I figured what they hey! Expcet I added engine and lights details to the ship to make it look like a deisgn that might have pre-dated the Enterprise.

  •  The Romulan Bird of Prey Cruiser from the episode "Balance of Terror". Accurate to the blueprints by Michael McMaster, with extra gridding and panel details by me. It's very interesting to know that the original script called for this ship to be a copy of the Enterprise, because the Romulans had stolen Federation plans/designs.

  • Romulan Snipe Frigate from "Star Fleet Command". It's a modification of my Bird of Prey mesh, except the central topside bridge is gone and there's more of a cockpit at the front. I love modifying ships to get more useful designs out of them!

  • DY-500, cargo vessel. The one the Enterprise blows up in "The Ultimate Computer". I love doing dirty, heavily-weathered hull plating, and this ship was a unique opportunity as most Trek ships tend to be clean. About 500 triangles.
